We're still
here to help you -- Better
than ever!! Our studies indicate that the greatest
need for surveying education is with applicants
preparing for their surveying license
examinations.
Why? What's the problem? Unfortunately the answer
is not that simple. First, the State Licensing Boards,
with the help of the National Council of Examiners
for Engineers and Surveyors (NCEES), are deliberately
making it tougher to pass the exam by gearing it
for college graduates. Second, the average examinee
has become almost totally dependent on computers
and has forgotten many of the basics.
Finally, the apprenticeship program enjoyed by previous generations has almost completely broken
down and training for technicians to take the
licensing exams is virtually nonexistent
in most surveying and engineering firms.
